Patient-specific guides for partial knee replacement
The SurgiNovi Partial Knee Replacement Patient-Specific Template, or PKR-PST, is designed to support planned femoral and tibial preparation. Its features include guidance for the posterior femoral cut and peg-hole preparation, with fixation options incorporated into the femoral template.
The Femoral PKR-PST offers surgeons the flexibility to select the most stable and ergonomic fixation method using multiple fixation holes. Meanwhile, the Tibial PKR-PST features a double-slit design for the cutting plane, allowing for precise additional bone removal if required during the procedure.
Planning the intended preparation
Partial knee replacement has its own clinical and technical requirements. The decision to use this procedure belongs to the treating surgeon, based on the assessment of the knee.
Guide selection follows that decision rather than determining it.
Within the planning discussion, the intended resection and implant position should be clear. The relevant bone surfaces need to provide the anatomical reference for the guide, and the proposed instrument configuration needs to correspond with the current plan.
Questions about PKR-PST
Is this the same guide as the total knee replacement template?
No. The PKR-PST is described for partial knee replacement and has its own design features. The total knee product pages describe separate configurations.
Can the template determine whether partial replacement is suitable?
No. Suitability requires clinical assessment. The template supports the preparation defined in a surgical plan.
Where can the wider workflow be reviewed?
The patient-specific templates page introduces the guide range. The software pages describe planning tools, and the contact page provides office details for questions about the relevant configuration.
